Taxi drivers down tools

Taxi drivers of Medunora Taxi Association (MDN) have downed tools since yesterday (Monday).

Taxi drivers have voiced out their dissatisfaction about bad treatment and working conditions while on duty.

MDN  Grievance officer, Jabulani Mabizela said they are working on a solution to resolve issues internally and externally.

In the meantime, passengers are feeling the pinch. To ease much of the distress, taxis from other associations have been roped in to assist until the situation is restored.

Last Friday, a taxi owner was gunned down in Orlando West as a result of conflict over taxi routes.
