DA spokesperson for Health in Gauteng, Jack Bloom has released a statement claiming that medical operations at Helen Joseph Hospital have been cut due to the anesthetic machines have been damaged due to a leaking roof.
“They had to cancel four operations a day for two weeks,” says Bloom.
The Health Department has denied the allegations but does say that the machine is damaged.
Simon Zwane, spokesperson for the Health Department has said that medical operations have not stopped like Bloom has claimed.
“We are aware of the anesthetic machines have been damaged but daily operations continued at the hospital,” said Zwane.
