Motorists are urged to beware hijackers that are out to rid unsuspecting residents of their cars.
Kliptown police spokesperson, Nondumiso Mpantsha said there have been cases reported where motorists were followed by hijackers who take their cars forcefully.
“Motorists need to be vigilant and lookout for suspicious looking cars, especially late at night,” she said.
“These hijackers are on the prowl and drivers need to look after their belongings.”
She urged residents to be on the lookout and be safe.
“Motorists need to work with the police to curb the spread of hijackings in the community. Criminals are on the lookout to scam residents out of their valuable items and they need to be careful, “she said.
