Pupils awarded for completing the Grassroots Programme

Pupils graduate after participating in the school programme.

Grassroots Programme that ran for five weeks at Emshukantambo Senior Secondary School was concluded with a graduation ceremony last Thursday.

The aim of the programme was to empower pupils with life skills that will equip them to change their lifestyles.

In an assembly dedicated to the award ceremony, parents, teachers and pupils came to support those that would be graduating.

It was a jovial affair as different items were rendered to celebrate the day.

“I was very impressed with the talent that our pupils showcased. It proved to us that the programme was not a bad idea,” said Pule Hlahane, a teacher at the school.

He said he was impressed with the calibre of talent that was amongst pupils at the school.

“We teach different types of individuals, however, we are pleasantly surprised when shy pupils perform and a different side of them is shown,” he said.
