Gogo Theresa Mosola (76) residing at the Soweto Home for the Aged has had her prayers answered by a good Samaritan, Xolani Mwelase.
This after pleading for donation of an adult walker and now enjoys the comfort of an adult walker that has a seat, carrier and working brakes.
She says compared to her old walker, the one she was given now is in very good condition.
Mosola said: “Due to my spine being in a fragile state, I needed a new walker that had brakes urgently. I used my old one for close to five years and it now had no tyres and could not brake anymore. God finally answered my prayers and now I am as happy as a baby with a new toy because I can move comfortably.”
The gogo said she was disappointed as people kept making empty promises to her but nothing would happen after that.
She said she would like to thank the person who donated this adult walker to her and the Jabavu Urban Newspaper for telling her story when she was pleading for help.
“I am happy I could help and I encourage others to the same,” said Mwelase.
