Diepkloof based Tshepo Gaelae, project manager of Danone Southern Africa has been selected as the lucky Danoner that will chaperon Siphumelele Primary School at this years’ Danone Nations Cup Finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime for the KwaZulu-Natal born youngsters that will be representing South Africa.
South Africa has been participating in the Danone Nations Cup World Finals since its inception in 2000 and holds the record as the only country to have won the tournament three times: 2003, 2007 and 2009.
The country now enjoys a solid reputation within the world of professional football and partner organisations.
According to Gaelae Danone Southern Africa held a competition among the staff to find the perfect chaperon to represent Danone in Brazil at the World Final.
“I bowled over the judges with my charisma and enthusiastic approach to this opportunity of a lifetime.
“My love for Football, children and dedication to Danone, and all it stands for was evident,” he said.
Gaelae said as a chaperon he has to go to great lengths to ensure that the South African team is always prepared, on time for all matches and activities, always in good spirits and make sure that every little person learns and develops whilst having fun on this once in a life time experience.
“I feel blessed and excited and after a moving candle light service at my church URCSA Botshabelo, I carry with me all the hearts of the family friends and congregants I leave behind,” he said.
