Pupils urged to refrain from illegal activities

Pupils must respect their school uniform.

The Gauteng Department of Education has appealed to pupils to refrain from illegal activities and respect their school uniform.

“We are working with the district and principals to ensure that pupils are in class during the contact time and continue with learning,” said MEC for Education Panyaza Lesufi.

He added that there is no excuse for pupils to be seen roaming around the streets during and after contact hours in school uniform.

“We should take lessons from the 2008 backward xenophobic attacks that were directed at foreign nationals residing in our country,” he said.
