Shoprite gives back to the community

Elderly keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Last week Friday, Shoprite donated yoga mats to the Protea South Senior Citizens Club.

The club consists of elderly people who exercise to keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Sabrina Naidoo, Public Relations Officer at Shoprite Gauteng Division said that the club sent a request for yoga mats and it was also part of their CSI initiative in giving back to the community.

“We decided to give them these yoga mats because it’s what they had requested and as part of our CSI initiative, we were more than willing to do that because it’s a way of giving back to the community,” said Naidoo.

Daphne Mfete who is also part of the Protea South Senior Citizen Club said they are very happy with the mats they received from Shoprite because they were using towels before.

“We are very much happy and we appreciate Shoprite for giving us what we needed and we hope they keep up with what they do and also help others as well,” said Mfete.
