There is protest action underway near the Diepkloof Hostel in Soweto.
Protesters blocked Chris Hani Road as a result causing heavy delays on the busy Soweto route that leads to the N12.
Traffic was redirected by Metro Police.
Metro Police said the protest action was over housing in the hostel area.
