Early Mandela Day celebrations brings joy for widow

Sarah Tshabalala was brought to tears when librarians from Region D painted and cleaned her house.

Tshabalala lost her husband in 2013 when he was burnt in his home while she collected their pension.

She also takes care of her four grandchildren with her pension money.

“I can bow down to them (librarians) for blessing me like this.

“God sent them to help me,” Tshabalala said.

Every year the librarians collect money among themselves to give back on Mandela Day.

Last year they gave school uniforms to 67 disadvantaged children.
