Car crash claims life

Car accident kills one and leaves two injured at Albertina Sisulu Road.

A woman was killed and two others sustained minor injuries when their vehicle overturned on Albertina Sisulu Drive in Bosmont, Johannesburg, at approximately 4am on Sunday morning.

Paramedics arrived on the scene after they received a phone call from an unknown resident.

Werner Vermaak who is the Communications Manager at ER24 said they came as soon as possible when the call was made.

”We found a woman, believed to be 25-years-old, a few meters away from her vehicle.

“Upon assessment we discovered that she showed no signs of life,’’ said Vermaak.

There was nothing that they could do for her and declared her dead on scene.

Two other women were found on the scene with minor injuries.

It is believed that they climbed out of the vehicle shortly after the collision.

“Both were assessed on scene and transported to Life Flora Clinic for further treatment,” said Vermaak

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.

Vermaak also mentioned the dangers of this particular road.

“We have discovered that a lot of accidents occur on this road because we have been called quite a number of times for collisions.

“We urge, to people using this road to drive carefully,” said Vermaak

The incident was handed over to the Johannesburg Metro Police for further investigation.
