Driver dies after spending a week in hospital

A taxi driver who was shot last week in Freedom Park succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Tuesday, according to the Eldorado Park Taxi Association’s Bashier Holland.

The man was shot twice, one in his hip and another in his shoulder.

Meanwhile on Tuesday February 23, a passenger was injured after a bullet missed a driver and struck the passenger.

“The situation is volatile and our drivers are not going through Freedom Park because of this,” Holland said.
