Community demands justice for Loren Dreyer, Eldoradopark
Community demands justice.
The community came out in support of Loren Dreyer’s mother, Denise Higgins, at the Lenasia Magistrate’s court this morning.
Dreyer was allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend Oliver Reed on New Year’s Eve last year. According to Higgins, Reed was an abusive boyfriend who administered regular beatings to her deceased daughter.
Following the discovery of her daughter’s body, Reed was charged with murder and appeared in the Lenasia Magistrate’s court the Monday following her death.
The case has been moved to the Protea Magistrate’s court and postponed until September 1.
Cheryl Pillay, the founder of Come Back Mission (CBM), has called on the community to show their support for Higgins and thanked all who came out today, urging them to continue showing support for women and children during this women’s month.
