Pimville Aerobics Studio hosts fitness marathon event
The physical session was aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle within the community.
The Pimville Aerobics Studio hosted a fitness marathon at the Pimville Community Centre in Soweto on October 10.
The session was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle within the community while exercising and keeping fit. The event brought together community members who shared a passion for exercise, fitness and health.
Pimville Aerobics Studio instructor and founder Thulani Nyuliwe said: “Today’s event is a fitness session where we were introducing Hyrox and all categories of aerobics. With the studio, we want to bring fitness awareness, health awareness and mental awareness. These go in sync and we want to tackle these three elements for those who attend our sessions.”

The session was physical, with many community members being challenged with different exercises, from young people to older residents.
“Today’s session is a special one because we have collaborated as different instructors to challenge everyone who has attended. We also are honouring Cancer Awareness Month, and it is through such activities and events in communities that we somehow lessen chances of getting illnesses because we get to exercise and keep fit and healthy,” said aerobics instructor Nkosinathi Mlangeni.

Elderly resident Anna Shamase said the session was much needed and essential in communities to help combat health complications. She added that the workout was fast-paced and challenging, but she enjoyed it and will keep attending.
