The stealing of cell phone tower’s battery is ailing Moroka SAPS

Without batteries, there will be no cell phone signal.

The increase in theft of cellphone tower’s batteries is ailing the Moroka SAPS.

Last month a group of men was arrested at a local cellphone tower while trying to break in to steal the batteries.

The cellphone towers provide cell phones with network and without batteries, the network signal disappears.

Captain Mpande Khoza of Moroka SAPS said, “Whenever the cell phone towers don’t have batteries, cell phones lose network and people can’t call ambulances and police for emergencies.”

Khoza said, “People should report suspicious cars roaming around their cellphone towers.”
