9 Kliptown Secondary learners bound for US
MMC for Community Development, Nonhlanhla Sifumba proud of Kliptown learners.
Following a rigorous selection process, nine learners from the historic Kliptown Secondary School have been chosen to go to the United States on a 10-day visit.
The learners, along with their counterparts from 110 countries will be hosted in America and visiting a number of cities across the United States.
At a staggering cost of approximately R70 000 per child, the funds will include accommodation at the prestigious Harvard University and a return ticket to South Africa.

They will be travelling to the US in June.
Member of the Mayoral Committee, Nonhlanhla Sifumba pledged to support three or four of the learners and organisers are in the process of raising funds to ensure that the learners are afforded this opportunity.
Sifumba said, “I don’t support initiatives and leave them there, with your help I will be following their progress.”

She further added that initiatives such as these are vital in exposing our learners to the international stage and getting them to see how things are done in other countries especially in business where new methods can be returned to these shores and applied in the South African context.
