Diepkloof marches against xenophobia, substance abuse and crime

"We love our foreign brothers and sisters."

The Anti-Xenophobia Awareness Campaign took part in Diepkloof on Tuesday, February 28 to speak against the xenophobic attacks that recently took part in our country.

The demonstration against the xenophobic attacks started at the Diepkloof SAPS and proceeded to end at the Bara Taxi Rank in Diepkloof.

According to Phephi Matlou Mteto, the spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS, “The campaign was a success and hopefully the positive message will resonate with the community.”

The campaign was a collective effort of entities like the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Youth Desk, South African Policing Station (SAPS), the patrollers, Home Affairs to clear any immigration confusion.

The march did not only address the black on black violence that has swept South Africa by surprise last of last week but the problem of drug abuse and brothels.
