After a branch meeting that has taken place last night. The residents have organized a shut down until someone hears them.

According to a source, the community has been complaining about service delivery for too long and nothing has been done.

Today, the residents of Riverlea took to the streets to have their voices heard.

The community is fighting for proper housing development in the area, the elimination of all drugs and drug houses, employment for the youth and for the households to get back their electricity that was switched off over the weekend.

The Metro Police are on the scene and have started putting out the fire and removing rubble in the streets.

Residents on the scene say that they will continue this for weeks.
