McCain South Africa shares in the joy at Forte Secondary School in Soweto
McCain gave Forte High School learners a chance to thank their moms
We all know how special our moms are, but sometimes we don’t really know how to show it.
The grade 8 learners at Forte Secondary School in Soweto recently wrote a number of heartfelt and special essays about their moms for McCain and their “It’s the little things that mean everything” campaign.
The learner’s efforts were recently rewarded when the McCain team returned to the school to give them all a big surprise.
To thank the learners for writing such wonderful heartfelt essays about their moms, McCain surprised each of them with a special one of a kind personalised plate as a gift.

Each of the plates had a special message on it from the learner to their moms. “When we read the essays, we were honestly so touched.
“The stories of selflessness, encouragement, and love that these learners shared about their moms was inspiring and we wanted to thank them for being so open and honest.
“On the day of our first visit, we had asked the learners to write a short message of thanks for their moms and these were the messages that we had printed onto the plates,” says Deolinda Da Costa, Marketing Manager at McCain.
As each child was called up to receive their plates they beamed with pride and their faces just lit up. But that wasn’t the only surprise that McCain had in store for the day.

The team also wanted to do something special for the school and donated a cheque for R10 000.
“At McCain, we realise how important education is and we hope this donation will assist in helping the school continue to do the great work that they do,” concludes Da Costa.
McCain is continuing to encourage children, of all ages, across the country to take a moment and thank their moms for all the little things they do that mean everything.
