Suspect due in court today.

The man accused of sexually assaulting 87 girls from AB Xuma Primary School in Orlando East will make his first appearance at the Protea North Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Since the news about the incident came to light, there’s been unrest at the primary school. Gauteng Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi held meetings with parents of the victims and also fired the principal and the senior management.

The most recent meeting was with the School Governing Body [SGB]. MEC Lesufi gave parents a platform to speak out about their grievances and how this has affected their children’s lives.

Initially, when the news about the alleged sexual assaults broke, the total number of girls was 54 but later increased to 87.
