‘Until we meet again Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’

The Wall of Remembrance.

The African National Congress Secretary-General Ace Magashule launched the first wall of remembrance for the ANC stalwart Mama Winifred Madikizela-Mandela.

The first wall was launched in Soweto [Noordgesig] the same route mama used to use. Magushule hand an input in painting the wall as he was given a chance to paint.

The ANC has launched walls of remembrance to celebrate her life, led by its secretary general, Ace Magashule and the artistic painting will be done all around the country.

This will be a way of remembering and celebrating the life of the late struggle icon. This will also be done in Limpopo, Gugulethu, Inyanga, Ulundi and all other major townships and villages in South Africa.

Magashule said Mama Winnie has touched the lives of many and he said he is happy that you can find young artists in Soweto to help draw the wall of remembrance.

He said this will be well documented in the history of South Africa that such has happened on this day in this area. He said they are happy and acknowledge that South Africa is becoming better every day.

Both artists said they are grateful to be given an opportunity to express their creativity in an art form. Ward 29 councillor, Brenda Dummie, said they are grateful that they are the first community to receive the wall of that celebrate the late political stalwart.

He said the wall is about a remarkable woman, strong women and the mother of the nation. She said the spear has fallen and promised to pick it up as women.
