The Nancefield area has been characterised by vacant underutilized land parcels. To counteract this, the JDA has put in place social amenities and urban upgrade interventions, which in future should catalyse the development of higher density residential properties.
This will help with developing opportunities that will attract private sector investment, including business development.
Ultimately the goal is to integrate key amenities such as the Maponya Mall, the schools in the area, Soweto Nike Centre and the New Multi-Purpose Community Sports Centre, to create a vibrant activity hub that is a destination within the Gauteng region.
