BREAKING: Premier Makhura and MEC Moila provide feedback on volatile housing issue

Residents in Johannesburg South are fed up and arrived by the hundreds at the stadium in Eldorado Park Extension Nine this morning. Gauteng Premier David Makhura and MEC of Human Settlements Uhuru Moiloa addressed the crowd delivering the long awaited progress report regarding the housing issue that has been ongoing for years.

Members of the deep South have been very unhappy with the service they have received thus far and expect change after the progress report is read today. “We demand answers, we are tired of waiting, we want our land, this is long overdue,” said an angry resident. Another said, ” If things don’t change we will take to the streets and this time we not play games like last time.”

Violent protests over the last month has led to many frustrated residents being arrested and properties vandalized.

MEC Uhuru Moiloa encouraged residents to remain hopeful as the housing issue will eventually be a thing of the past. “We hear your concerns and we are doing everything we can to ensure that the housing project will be completed,” said the MEC.

Residents made sure their message got through.
The protests were peaceful but the messages were clear.
We will not back down.

Premier David Mahkura said that he will come back to Eldorado Park In September to give feedback to the residents of the progress that was discussed today.
