Bikers celebrate after blessing the impoverished

"June 16 is the day when South Africans, especially Sowetans must revel in who they are."

The June 16 charity drive took off in High spirits at the One Love Lounge where the bikers met after going to embellish the impoverished people from Freedom Park.

Many Sowetans felt the stimulation to share their stories and each other’s company and privileges like Nqaba Dongo of One Love Lounge in Diepkloof who takes pride in his history and still supports initiatives that are meant to uplift the community.

The biking crews like Hoodratz and Immortals Hood commemorated the fallen former warriors of freedom and drove for charity to elate the underprivileged youth of South Africa.

Nqaba had an idea to help contain and continue the excitement and enthusiasm of the World Cup so he could have a long-term plan to help fellow residents of Diepkloof once the soccer festivities were over and the so-called promises have faded, he has managed to keep that spirit of unity and innovation even eight years after the world cup came to our shores.

Nqaba said, “When we opened this place, I had one vision in mind, and that was to retain the spirit of hope in our people and to make them never forget where we all came from as a country.”

Lebo Mohale of Hoodratz explained how they gathered on the early hours of that day and proceeded to their respective destinations according to their set itinerary.”

Mohale said, “We went to Freedom Park to donate to impoverished kids before we went to Diepkloof to learn more about our rich history and our indigenous games while we just networked with each other.”

One Love Lounge is still one of Diepkloof’s symbols of hard work and perseverance through all life’s storms, situated close to Diepkloof Square and EBhareni Taxi Rank, Dongo expressed his gratitude to the people and the youth from around which went to his place to celebrate June.

Dongo said, “June 16 is the day when South Africans, especially Sowetans must revel in who they are.”
