Polo Vivo sought for random robberies
No casualties have been reported yet, however, a firearm was reported to have been used during the robberies.
Diepkloof SAPS has launched a manhunt for men who go around robbing people. The wanted suspects drive a Polo Vivo.
A complainant told cops at the police station that she was robbed allegedly at gunpoint by men who were driving in a red Polo Vivo.
A spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto explained that it not yet clear at this point which car is really being used to commit these crimes because a few weeks ago suspects driving in a white Polo Vivo were reported to be randomly robbing people.
Matlou-Mteto said, “We have been trying to trace the car that is being used during these crimes but we are not sure as to which car is that, so we are appealing to people from the community who may know about these cars to come forward so that justice can be done.”
Another robbery of the same kind took place a couple of weeks ago in Diepkloof. A silver-grey Polo Vivo was spotted and reported.
Matlou-Mteto said, “We have had to open a few similar cases but for different coloured cars. So we are still investigating as to whether the cars are linked.”
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported yet, however, a firearm was reported to have been used during the robberies.
