Another local talent on trial at Downs.
Mamelodi Sundowns FC is becoming a hunting ground for aspiring Dobsonville budding soccer stars – another new kid on the block that is currently undergoing soccer trials at the Brazilians team is Thabo Kekana following at the footsteps of Sethojane who is also undergoing soccer trials with the PSL champions.
According to the sensational 20-year-old right winger, it is tough to play soccer at his age because he sacrifices in balancing his lifestyle, education and football career. “I appreciate the support from my family, coach Shiyaam Davis from Dobsonville Footballers FC and my teammates for being supportive.
Coach Davis made me believe that I can have a sustainable football career if I work hard.
He always emphasised the importance of discipline and putting extra effort at all times, “said Kekana.

He said to be selected to undergo soccer trials at Sundowns is one of his football career highlight that he would forever cherish.
Kekana role model is Anthony “Lahlumleze “Laffor.
“I emulate my style of play to Laffor style whom I’m playing in the same position he plays at Downs.
“At Sundowns I’m learning more about soccer and I’m working tirelessly on my weakness which is goal scoring.
“My strength is to create goal scoring opportunities for my teammate but nowadays goals are scored by all those who are featured in the soccer pitch.
“That help to relieve enormous pressure that is often curried solely by our strikers,” said Kekana.
He urges PSL teams to organised soccer tournaments in the townships so that they can unearth abundance of untapped township soccer talent.
