Suspects wanted for alleged robbery in Riverlea

According to the police report, the suspects managed to take the flat screen TV and they drove off in a VW Polo.

Over community group chats in Riverlea, there have been reports on break-in’s, hijackings, suspicious characters roaming around in streets and so forth.

Many of these reports have not been reported at the police stations which makes it challenging for the police to keep track of what’s happening in the neighbourhood.

There was a report by communications officer Constable Phumi Kraai from the Langlaagte police station which was released on May 28.

The report states as follows: on May 20, at about 12.30am a helper at a house in Potomac Street, Riverlea was busy doing laundry outside of the house when two coloured males entered the yard and chocked the helper.

“The two men then forced the helper into the house where they found the complainant sitting and watching TV.

“They tied the helper and the complainant’s hands,” explained Constable Kraai.

According to the police report, the suspects managed to take the flat screen TV and they drove off in a VW Polo.

The registration of the VW Polo is unknown and no arrest has been made at this stage.

Constable Kraai said that the Langlaagte police pleads to the community at large to contact the police station if there is any information on the above-mentioned VW Polo and suspects.

If you have any information on this case, you can contact Vispol Head of Langlaagte police station Captain Mampa on 011 473 6200.
