He has released many records like Break Even, About it, Emancipation and others which featured in his mixtape titled The Break Even back in 2007 before taking a break to pursue other things.
Kenneth Bhekizizwe Nzama better known as DJ Kenzhero is back with new music after taking a break from music production to focus on his career as a deejay.
He has released many records like Break Even, About it, Emancipation and others which featured in his mixtape titled The Break Even back in 2007 before taking a break to pursue other things. He became a resident deejay in Cape Town and travelled in and outside the country to perform.
He played as headliner deejay for Max Normal, Tumi And The Volume now known as Stogie T, Freshly Ground and The Goema Captains Of Cape Town and featured on different radio stations including n YFM, KAYA FM, UJ FM and TUKS Radio.
The Soweto born deejay and music producer was born in the era of the Soweto uprising in Baragwanath Hospital and his adventure in music started back in 1998 when he started to deejay at poetry sessions influenced by his musically slanted family.
He said the initial plan was to venture into music production. He mentioned that his first influence came from his grandfather as he was a great music collector focusing on various genres ranging from jazz to blues and soul.
“I wanted to do music from the word go but deejaying obviously caught me but I am slowly gravitating back to the original plan of making music. We will be releasing a song with Tha Muzik,” says DJ Kenzhero.
“The song is titled WWWG, it is not necessary new school but it’s a take an old song that we think will speak to our market, we worked with a four-piece band and we recorded more than one song so we will be putting out music now and then.”
The versatile deejay stated that he is happy with the growth and direction which South African music is taking. He said it is great because now the world is looking at us to kind of see where we are in terms of sound.
