Taxify (bolt) driver loses eye following an alleged armed robbery in Diepkloof
The case for attempted murder and armed robbery has been opened at the station in Diepkloof.
It was in Diepkloof Zone Four where the Bolt Driver drove to pick up a Taxify requester, only to be quickly shot in the face by one man when two men suddenly appeared from both sides of the car.
The Spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto expressed disappointment in the fact that the Taxify Driver lost his eye.
She said that if is dismaying to know that the Taxify robberies are continuing even after the police’s efforts to make the driver’s awareness of the trend, she said, “It seems like these Taxify driver’ robbers are not letting up with their trend, it’s sad how recently one Taxify driver was shot in the face during a robbery in Diepkloof and later lost his eye.”
The case for attempted murder and armed robbery has been opened at the station in Diepkloof and so far the police know that the robbery was committed by two men, one of them was carrying a gun and he executed the shooting.

The victim reported that after he was shot in the face, he was forced out of the car and frisked, his wallet and phones were taken.
Several Taxify Robberies have been opened at the police station in Diepkloof except for this of attempted murder, the captain explained, that it is the first time we hear that the driver was shot, usually they just perform the robbery, often using the gun for intimidation.
Matlou-Mteto said, “We are looking for the suspects, the case is being closely scrutinized while the victim is steadily recovering in hospital.”
