Mosco knocked out Emdeni Aces in tournament semi –finals

Penalties were the last option to close of the game as the two teams played to a drew.

Mosco booked a spot in the tournament finals when they punished Emdeni Aces in penalty shootouts after they played to a 1 all draw at Club Colombia in Naledi.

The winning side scored the first goal in the first when Emdeni defence committed a mistake just near their goalposts, Mosco capitalised on the mistake and scored the opening goal in the early minutes of the first half.

The team captain Luthando Langa come through to get his side back in the game after he found an equalizing goal to make it 1-1 not long after they coincided the first goal, the goal was welcomed by the exited supporters of Emndeni Aces as they chanted.

Penalties were the last option to close of the game as the two teams played to a drew. The first four shots were the most interesting part of the as both goalkeepers were not ready to concede a goal as yet., the game saw Mosco proceed to the finals after they won the penalty shootout.

Emdeni Aces captain Luthando Langa said they handled the game very well more so in the first half because they were able to play together as a team.

“Our problem as a team is fitness we need to train, we need to go back and work on our fitness especially on Tuesdays as it is our fitness training day,” said Langa.


The two sides battle for position in the middle of the park.

Nkosinathi Mahlaba said he cannot complain because they created a lot of chances and that is an indication that they worked hard to penetrate the opposition.

“A win will always make us happy no one plays to lose event the opposition played well but again soccer will always be soccer, otherwise our fitness level is still poor when doing fitness training in the morning only 3 players pitch for training, so we still have to work on discipline but overall we played well,” said Mahlaba.
