Double murder in Freedom Park
The communications officer confirmed that no arrests have been made so far.
On Saturday, October 26, at approximately 22h00 members of the Eldorado Park SAPS were called out to attend a scene of a double murder which occurred at a tavern in Meteor Street, Freedom Park.
“It is alleged by witnesses that whilst they were seated outside the tavern, four black males arrived. The four males had firearms and ordered them to go into the tavern. Everyone followed the instructions besides two males, and a few minutes later they heard gunshots,” said Eldorado Park SAPS Communications officer Constable Roxanne Gibb.
“When the Police arrived on the scene, they found two males lying in a pool of blood. One of the victims had multiple gunshot wounds on the back of his head, whilst the other victim was shot in his back and the projectile exit was out of his stomach. Both males, aged 36 and 43 were certified deceased on the scene and all relevant role players were present at the scene.” Gibb added.

The communications officer confirmed that no arrests have been made so far.
“The suspects are currently unknown at this stage and anyone with information should immediately report it to Eldorado Park SAPS or alternatively contact SAPS Crime Stop hotline on 08600 10111.
Residents are urged to be cautious when drinking at taverns and should always remain alert and vigilant for any suspicious activity, behavior or persons and to immediately report such activities. They are also advised to be responsible at all times if they consume alcohol , and by doing so, we creating a safer South Africa for all, especially as we approach the festive season,” Gibb concluded.
