It is alleged that the Jabulani SAPS received a call from an unknown person at about 08:20 am alerting the police that there is a bomb at Jabulani mall. Police were evacuating residents inside the mall until experts visited and declared the area as safe.
A Jabulani SAPS spokesperson Captain Sifiso Mabizela stated that while it is not yet confirmed whether the information is true and that the person who gave out the information will face the full might of the law.

Jabulani SAPS safely confirms that residents should not panic and it is business as usual at Jabulani Mall, as experts were called into inspect and found nothing.
“A criminal case will be opened for an informant who provided the police with false information or an alternative offense,” Captain Mabizela confirmed.
