A man was shot dead at the Soweto Highway following a road rage incident

The deceased was shot in the presence of his kid and wife.

The police from Diepkloof SAPS have been intensely looking for the man who allegedly got in road rage with another man in the Soweto high way before resorting to shooting him dead.

The deceased was shot in the presence of his kid and wife, the spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto said, “The man gave up his life to the two gunshot wounds he acquired at the scene right in front of his family.”

A homicide case was opened and the shooter who was found out to have been using fake registration numbers for his car fled and has not appeared ever since.

Gauteng alone as of 1 December 2019 till 15 January 2020 had 527 firearms handed over to the law, Matlou-Mteto said, “We are very sad at the passing away of the family man in front of his family, as the police we are still in a fight to lessen and ultimately rid the streets from illegal firearms.”

Another armed robbery case was reported to the police after a Chinese national who owns a shop at the Irvin Khoza Complex reported how he was robbed by three guys on foot.

Matlou-Mteto said, “We are still pleading with our people to help us fight crime by reporting any criminal activities promptly so that criminals would not even have a hiding place inside our communities.”
