Sergeant Octavia Thebe calls for community members to stop discriminating the LGBTI community following an investigation of alleged common assault

Meadowlands SAPS investigate a case of alleged common assault.

A case of alleged common assault has been registered at the Meadowlands SAPS, according to Sergeant Octavia Thebe, the victim alleged that his cousin punched him with a fist on the face because he is gay.

Sergeant Thebe said people should not judge others, humiliate or discriminate against the LGBTI because they are entitled to the right to humanity and the right to freedom like everyone, she added that community members should respect other peoples’ rights.

The suspect has not been arrested as the investigation in the case is still underway.
