Kliptown Youth Program offers to assist with the R350 social grant applications
Details of who will be allowed to apply have been released.
Details of who will be allowed to apply and how to apply for the R350 social grant created by the government were released, however for some people internet connection may be a challenge.
Kliptown Youth Program (KYP) has posted on its Facebook page that it will assist by offering WIFI/Internet at no cost to anyone who wants to apply for the social relief grant of R350 that will be given to unemployed people by the government.
Based in Kliptown, the organisation said in its statement:
“Our social workers will be available to assist with the applications and as soon as the email application works, we will scan documents of people at no cost. Thank you to ClickFoundation and Rain for providing the internet for us to help the community.”

Requirements for receiving the Grant :
Over the age of 18.
Currently unemployed.
Not receiving any other form of income.
Not receiving any other form of social grants.
Unable to claim UIF and unqualified to receive the benefits of unemployment benefits.
Unable to receive a stipend from NSFAS
Living outside of government-funded or subsidised institutions.
When applying, you will need to provide the following details:
Identity number OR Department of Home Affairs permit.
Name and Surname as per your ID.
Your gender and any possible disabilities.
Banking details, including the name of your bank and the account number you have.
Contact details.
Proof of address.
In terms of Application process, an application for social relief of distress or a social grant may be lodged electronically over and above any other available means of lodging such applications.
The measures applicable include sending a WhatsApp message to 0600 123 456 and selecting SASSA or an E-mail to SRD@sassa.gov.za.
