Three suspects(15,17 & 19) arrested for murder in Freedom Park

The two-child offenders were detained at Walter Sisulu Child Care Centre and the 19-year-old suspect at Eldorado Park SAPS on the charges of murder.

On Thursday, December 3 at approximately 6.31 pm members of Eldorado Park SAPS attended a murder scene that occurred along Clutch Street, Freedom Park.

“It is alleged that the three suspects aged 15,17 and 19 years were gambling with the 17-year-old victim when an argument between the four of them broke out. The three suspects had accused the victim of owing them R5.00 and thereafter started assaulting him.”

“It is further alleged that the victim ran to his house in Technik Street, Freedom Park. He later returned to the scene, took out a knife, and attempted to stab the suspects. The 17-year-old suspect disarmed the victim, and used the knife to stab the victim once, in the stomach,” explained Constable Roxanne Gibb.

The victim had succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Gibb further explained that the three suspects were arrested by the police, the two-child offenders were detained at Walter Sisulu Child Care Centre and the 19-year-old suspect at Eldorado Park SAPS on the charges of murder.

“We once again remind parents to exercise stricter parental control, and to monitor their children’s daily activities, especially during the festive season. Illegal gambling is strictly condemned and SAPS has a zero-tolerance to these illegal gambling schools.

“Anyone found to be committing the offense of illegal gambling will face the serious repercussions thereof.
