Protea Glen residents demand a satellite police station following the murder of a young girl in Ext31

It is alleged that the murdered young woman's body was found in a field in Protea Glen Ext 13, where it is suspected that she was tortured and left for dead.

The mysterious murder of a young girl since identified as Phuti Ramara has caused the community of Protea Glen to demand a satellite police station for areas that are remote from Protea Glen SAPS.

A memorandum was drawn up by the people and dropped at Protea Glen SAPS, where the Spokesperson for the police, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng acknowledged the reception of the memorandum.

Phelelani Sindani walked to the Police Station in Protea Glen Ext 2 with the people. He said, “We are sick and tired of these murders around our communities. We want to do away with criminals, murderers, and rapists. We have already identified one suspect and he is on the run.”

Mashiteng, who spoke for the police explained that the last time he checked with the officers who are handling the murder case for Phuti, on 9 December, no arrests had been made.
As for a suspect already being identified by the people and on the run, Mashiteng said, “I wouldn’t know about that, all I can say is that the police are investigating the case and any suspect should be reported or handed over to the police.”

Any person with any information that can lead to the arrest of the killers should contact the police.

It is alleged that the murdered young woman’s body was found in a field in Protea Glen Ext 13, where it is suspected that she was tortured and left for dead.

Sindani said, “This is very sad, we need to be vigilant as a community and look out for one another.”
