Man on the run after he allegedly attempted to kill his cousin

Diepkloof police are looking for a male suspect for allegedly attempting to murder his cousin.

“It is alleged that in January, two cousins were drinking alcohol together at the Diepkloof Hostel when an argument started between them. The other cousin went inside the room as they were sitting outside and came out with a firearm. He started by shooting twice in the air, fired another shot next to his cousin’s feet and then allegedly shot his cousin twice in the stomach then ran away. The neighbours transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. He was admitted for a week and later discharged,” said Captain Phephi Matlou, Diepkloof SAPS spokesperson.

“Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the suspect may contact the investigating officer SGT Sonnyboy Magengenene on this number 0798907087 or 0119337400,” Matlou added.

The community is urged not to apprehend the suspect as he may be armed and dangerous.
