Battle lines drawn as Diski Nine9 Netball returns to Soweto

The opening day of the league has been scheduled for Saturday, March 13 and has served up a feisty list of fixtures for both the Under 13s (U13) and 16s divisions.

With the return of Netball announced by and her Executive team on February 8, local clubs have also been eager to get back underway. In Soweto, the battle lines have already been drawn for this week’s commencement of Diski Nine9 netball league action.

The opening day of the league has been scheduled for Saturday, March 13 and has served up a feisty list of fixtures for both the Under 13s (U13) and 16s divisions.

Senaoane Gunners, Skeltors Dream Team, and South West Academy will all look to make home court advantage count when they host Sancho Rangers, Spectaculars, Umpire Ladies, and Winter Roses respectively for the first clashes of the league. Games are set to begin at 11 am across all courts for week one.

Debutants, G&Q Management will likely still be beaming with confidence from their dominant performance in a one-day tournament held at the Mapetla Sports Complex in December last year.

On Sunday the following day, the U19s and Senior teams will take to the courts and begin their campaigns in a bid to win the league. JazzDima, Golden Bears, Perfect Image, and Peace Makers will all be looking to keep the points at home as the hosts for Week one U19 & Senior matches. Meanwhile, Levites, Dragons, Protea Blues, and FlyBallers will undoubtedly be determined to take away precious points on the road as visitors for this week. All games are set to start at 11 am for all matches.

The venues for these matches include Orlando West Park, Kliptown Parking, and the Protea Glen Sports Centre amongst others.
