Karate is growing rapidly in Soweto and Siphesihle Msomi from the  has proven to be one of the best, after beating all of his opponents in Durban at the Karate South African Nationals Championships. The championships were for the children, cadets, and juniors. From winning a gold medal in the Kumite division to see him qualify for the trip to Durban, Msomi didn’t lose any consistency, Sensei Thabo Molubi said, “He rose to the occasion, as usual, he booked his place in the finals after defeating all of his opponents to later win the gold medal. He was exceptional.”

Danika Stephanson also took part in the championships in Durban and won a medal, coming in second place. Molubi said, “Her courage and talent have made us all so proud of her.” Msomi and Stephanson have both earned themsel
