According to head coach, Nathan Davies this was the first edition of the tournament. There were eight teams participating in the tournament and the club had to play against five teams in order to get into the finals.
Strokes met local team Donchester in the finals after eliminating 10111 FC in the semi- finals. Strokes won the tournament by 1-0 courtesy of Ziyaad Fredericks’ goal.
Coach Davies added that Strokes walked away with R20 000 in prize money, a trophy, medals and a new set of kit.
“We would like to send a thank you to Rupesh from Jays liquor store, Pastor Lester Constance, the Lubbe family and Mainos food for their contribution for the affiliation fee for the tournament and also to the traveling strokes supporters who attended,” said the coach.
