35 suspects arrested during operation O Kae Molao in Eldos

According to Sergeant Roxanne Gibb, the ‘problematic’ addresses provided by Crime Intelligence and community members were raided by the members.

On September 1, the Eldorado Park SAPS together with other Law Enforcement Agencies conducted operation O Kae Molao within the Greater Eldorado Park.

According to Sergeant Roxanne Gibb, the ‘problematic’ addresses provided by Crime Intelligence and community members were raided by the members. Illegal taverns were also raided and closed.

“As a result, a total of 35 suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from dealing in liquor, possession of drugs, rape, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, contravention of a protection order, failure to produce a valid passport and possession of an illegal gambling machine,” said Sergeant Gibb.

The items seized and confiscated consisted of high quantities of drugs and alcohol with an estimated street value of R20 759. The high-density operation resulted in stop and searches and crime prevention conducted within the vicinity.

Colonel Mbambo said the operational team members executed their duties as expected during the integrated approach of the Law Enforcement Agencies, which were mainly aimed at combating crime and criminal activities within the vicinity.

“The suspects are expected to appear in the respective courts during the course of the week,” concluded Gibb.
