Netball team becomes a symbol of hope for young girls in community

The club is committed to nurturing future leaders while challenging harmful behaviour and promoting values such as education, financial literacy, self-belief, and excellence.

From humble beginnings at an open field in Protea Glen, Young Aces Netball Club (YANC) has become a symbol of hope and empowerment for young girls in the community. Founded in 2024 under the Young Aces Girls Academy, the club has rapidly grown from a sport to a vehicle for social change, building confidence, leadership, discipline, and teamwork.

Despite limited resources, the club’s Division 13 team has defied odds, delivering outstanding performances and exemplifying resilience and determination. Their success highlights that talent and hard work can overcome anything.

The club has launched programmes, such as financial literacy instruction, to ensure that every athlete maintains a bank account and develops lifelong money management skills. They also work closely with parents to create a strong support network, fostering holistic growth.

In collaboration with the Big Three Teams, they hosted and celebrated Youth Day to promote understanding of the importance of being an active member of a community.

These initiatives help the young girls to grasp the value of civic engagement and social responsibility.

YANC will host a special sports awareness and entrepreneurial day on September 24.

This event will showcase the talents of young girls, highlighting their progress in sports and financial literacy.
