Protea police launch a manhunt for kidnapping and robbery suspect

Protea police have launched a manhunt for a kidnaping and common robbery suspect.

The suspect they are looking for is a 41 year old man and it follows an incident which happened at Lufhereng Extension 6 on September 6.
“It is alleged that the man kidnapped his girlfriend (26) and drove with her to an open space at Lufhereng Extension 06.
“He forcefully took her cellphone and assaulted her with fists. He also strangled her with a rope but she managed to escape.
“The man fled the scene with a motor vehicle, a white bakkie written “Big Joe” on the side,” explained police spokesperson, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng.

The investigation is underway to search for the suspect and a warrant of arrest was issued at the Protea Magistrate’s Court.
