A 25 year-old-man from Protea Glen is due to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court for charges of dealing in dagga.

He was arrested on Friday morning last week when police were conducting their crime prevention duties in Protea Glen Extension 12. They received a tip-off about a man selling dagga at the entrance of one of the local hardware stores.
Protea police spokesperson, Sergeant Vincent Mashiteng said, “The police quickly went to the place and found a man fitting the description given busy selling dagga. The police approached and searched him.
“They found him in possession of 50 small plastic bags containing dagga and undisclosed amount of cash.”
The suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and is due to appear in court soon.
“This arrest indicates that the police are serious about dealing with the scourge of drugs in Protea Glen.

Community members are encouraged to assist the Police with information about crime,” added the Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mkhari.
