"We have scars within as women that we cannot deal with on our own, so we to need a space where we are safe to share our pain.”

On June 24, Inkaba Yami Ise Dlamini hosted a ladies in coats and doek seminar for all women to be the bridge that brings them together in sisterhood.

The purpose of the event was to create a platform for women from Dlamini to come together and celebrate their wins and carry each other’s home burdens. They are building an environment where women become their sisters’ keepers.

Zoleka Malefane from Inkaba Yami Ise Dlamini and host said, “I have realised that as women we have a lot in common, we have a lot of burdens on our shoulders as mothers. As women from Dlamini we need to know one another so that we are able to become each other’s safe space.”

A Sisterhood can create strong connections that last forever whilst also bringing a sense of belonging to people who might feel isolated and alone.

“We must have each other’s backs. When I don’t have bread, I should be able to ask another and you should not gossip about my struggles to the world.

“I need to be able to help my sister and not rejoice when she has problems with her children,” said Malefane.

Having a sense of belonging is so important to all women and girls, and the acceptance from the group can help individuals show acceptance and growth within themselves.
