Soweto Fashion Week returns for Autumn Winter 2026 showcase

Four-day event at Soweto Theatre highlights emerging and established designers.

The biannual Soweto Fashion Week (SFW) is set to make its return for the Autumn/Winter 2026 season at the acclaimed Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Soweto, offering a four-day fashion experience from April 28 to May 1.

As it continues to provide a platform for local designers to showcase their work, the show aims to empower both emerging and established designers from township communities.

The Soweto Fashion Week is dedicated to empowering emerging local talent.

Founded in 2011 by local entrepreneur Stephen Manzini, SFW has evolved over the past decade and a half into one of South Africa’s largest and most influential fashion platforms, attracting designers from Soweto and across the country.

“South Africa is a vital player and a founding member of the BRICS alliance alongside China, Russia and Brazil. By aligning with these emerging global centres, we are actively reshaping global influence and positioning South Africa at the forefront, led by visionary platforms like SFW,” said Victoria Varga, an internationally recognised, award-winning designer.

The show will showcase the talented designers’ work.

With more than 15 years of industry experience and 26 seasons to its name, SFW has grown into a dynamic and globally recognised platform, drawing a diverse community of local and international designers, buyers and fashion enthusiasts.

Aligned with its vision of empowering talent, the 2026 edition will feature its Emerging Bloc on opening night — a defining feature of SFW — alongside established designers who have solidified their presence in the industry.

Starting from April 28 to May 1, the four-day show has a lot in store.

Adding to the lineup, two international designers from South Asia and Spain will showcase their collections.

The platform continues to play a pivotal role in advancing South Africa’s fashion industry by creating opportunities for talent development, market access and international collaboration.
