Speaking to Urban News, the girl’s mother said she was not home at the time of the incident but was returning from a funeral of a family member of the alleged suspect in Randburg.

“I don’t know when the suspect arrived home because I last saw him at the funeral. On my way back, I got a call from my son, but I didn’t answer since I was almost home.

“When I arrived, I found him crying at the gate. He told me he saw the suspect touching his little sister, that she wasn’t wearing her trousers, and that the suspect had covered her [child] mouth while she screamed in the back rooms of my home,” said the mother.

She further stated that upon entering the house, she found the girl asleep. After waking her, the child was shivering and visibly scared. She asked what was wrong, and the girl said the suspect wanted to hurt her.
