Eldorado Park police nab suspect with unlicensed firearm

A woman was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on September 19 at Eldorado Park Ext 9.

Eldorado Park Police Station’s communication officer, Fezeka Khobo, said during the patrol, officers noticed a suspicious-looking woman wearing a white cap and a grey blanket, attempting to open the gate of a property while carrying a white bag in her right hand.

“The suspect was approached, asked permission to be searched and found in a bag in her possession a black 9mm firearm with live ammunition,” said Khobo.
She added that the woman failed to produce the licence, instead saying the firearm belongs to her boyfriend.

The woman was arrested and detained at Eldorado Park station for further investigation and is expected to appear in court today, September 22.
