Intelligence-led operation leads to arrest of suspect in Eldorado Park firearm and drug case
A 57-year-old man has been arrested in Eldorado Park after an intelligence-driven police operation uncovered an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drugs at a residential address.
Members of the Eldorado Park Crime Prevention Unit, together with Gauteng Traffic Wardens, arrested a 57-year-old suspect following an intelligence-driven operation in Eldorado Park on Saturday, June 27.
According to the SAPS, officers acted on information received from a credible source regarding a man allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drugs within the policing precinct.

The information was acted upon, which led police to the identified address where a search was conducted.

During the search, officers recovered one 9mm firearm, 59 rounds of live ammunition with one magazine, as well as drugs that were wrapped in a plastic packet.
The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as dealing in drugs.
The police confirmed that the suspect is expected to appear in court soon, while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
